Official University of Louisville Alert Channels
During an emergency or when campus conditions affect class/work schedules, you will receive official university alerts through multiple channels, including:
- Push Notifications: Receive emergency alerts and important updates directly through the SafeZone mobile app.
- Text Messages (SMS): Opt in to receive text message alerts by adding your mobile phone number to your MCAlert profile.
- Email: Alerts are sent to your University of Louisville email address.
- Voice Notifications: Receive alerts on your registered phone numbers, when applicable.
- Campus Systems: Notifications may also be delivered through university communication channels, including the university website, digital signage, desktop alerts and other campus notification systems, as appropriate.
Managing your text notification preferences
Participation in SMS text messaging is optional. After signing in, you can manage your notification preferences and update your contact information through the MCAlert portal, including adding mobile phone numbers and additional email addresses.
