Get to know K9 Lily
K9 Lily joined ULPD in the Spring semester of 2025 and has made an impressionable impact since day one on the job. She began her training at 10 weeks old and was a natural from the very beginning. She is the first Therapy K9 for the University of Louisville Police Department.
Lily has a very affectionate personality that includes tail wags, kisses and hugs. Some of her favorite things are sticks, leaves and belly rubs. She has many roles on campus that includes visits to the counseling center, public appearances for student events, classroom lectures, community outreach and helping individuals in mental distress. K9 Lily is not only a joyful ambassador for ULPD but also a vital partner in promoting wellness, approachability and community trust throughout the University of Louisville.
Lily’s presence provides comfort, connection and emotional support to students, staff, faculty and visitors across the campus community.
When off duty, Lily enjoys all the classic comforts of canine life with her family such as going on walks, taking naps, tug-o-war and relaxing on the couch. If you see Lily on campus, please stop to say hi and take a picture. She loves the camera!
